The Playful Insurgency aims at relocating playfulness at the heart of our communities

The insurgency is based on spontaneous, playful and improvised interactions with others in public spaces. The insurgency is open to anyone interested to explore the power of play as a tool for personal and social transformation. There is no expectation other than accepting whatever emerges from the playful encounter with ourselves and others. 

The Playful Insurgency was introduced at The Place Theatre in Bedford in 2019, and at the Bedford Festival Fringe in 2017 and 2018.

​I am the creator, director, animator and curator of the Theatre of Lived Experience. I create visual, performative, spoken and written worlds to explore identity, belonging, shared meaning, inbetweenness and our relationship to otherness. My art work is mainly based on personal narratives to foster awareness, understanding and acceptance of one another. It aims at challenging perceptions, and opening creative spaces for reflection, dialogue and change. It is located at the intersection of the personal and the collective. I am interested in art as public and social intervention whereby audiences are involved as co-creators. Alongside this work, I also have more than 15 years' therapeutic experience with individuals and groups.

I am based in Bedford (UK).
